License Types:

Package Types: 1/2/3

• 1-Essential
• 2-Professional
• 3-Ultimate

Customer Information:

• Customer Name
• Email

User Types:

• Authors
• Readers
• Reader Preview

Connectors:

• Standard Connectors
• Auto Lineage Connectors

In the OvalEdge 5.0, while creating the new license the following customer information, license type, and the number of users using the application details are required for generating a license key.

License Type: The Essential License Type provides the privileges for the users to access all the modules existing in the application except the modules mentioned under the Professional and Ultimate

Note: The above-mentioned modules are associated with the Professional and Ultimate; other than these, all modules are associated with the Essential. If needed the Essential License Type can be customized by selecting desired modules from the Professional and Ultimate.

License Type: The Professional License Type provides the privileges for the users to access all the modules existing in the application except the modules mentioned under the Ultimate.

Note: The above mentioned modules are associated with the Ultimate and other than these all modules are associated with the Professional. If needed the Professional License Type can be customized by selecting desired modules from the Ultimate.

License Type: The Ultimate License Type provides the privileges for the users to access all the modules existing in the application.

User Types

The following are the User Type associated with the Essential, Professional, and Ultimate License Types

1. Author -  The user with Author privileges can either have Metadata Read or Write permission.
2. Reader -  The user with Reader privileged can only have Metadata Read permission and additionally, Reader users can be provided with either Data No access/Data Preview/Data Read access.
3. Reader Preview - The user with Reader Preview privileges can have only Metadata Read permission. 

For Connecters License

1. Connectors: In general, the standard connectors may not have the AUTO LINEAGE functionality. 
2. Auto Lineage Connectors: The auto lineage connectors have the AUTO LINEAGE functionality also.

To achieve a user access license, we need to divide roles in license type, because we have the user access via role on objects in the application.

Security Manage Roles

Administration- User Manager

Conditions for degradation in security- manage roles

• In Security, when any Role is having author license type and permissions as (MRDW,  MWDN, MWDP, MWDR, MWDW) we cannot degrade that license type to reader or reader preview license type
• In Security, when any Role is having reader license type and permissions as (MRDR) we cannot degrade that license type to reader preview license type

Conditions for up-gradation in security- manage roles

• In Security, when any Role is having a reader preview license type (MRDN, MRDP) we can upgrade that license type to reader or author license type
• In Security, when any Role is having a reader license (MRDN, MRDP, MRDR) type we can upgrade that license type to author license type.
  

Conditions for up-gradation in user manager (updating license)

• In the user manager, when any user has a reader preview license type we can upgrade him to a reader or author license type.
• In the user manager when any role has a reader license type we can upgrade it to author license type

Conditions for degradation in user manager (updating license)

• In user manager, when we want to degrade any user from author to a reader or reader preview, first we have to change his role in "users and roles" with this permission (MRDN, MRDP, MRDR)
