About OvalEdge 5.1.5

The OvalEdge 5.1.5 is the latest release improvised with the advanced filter options in the Data Catalog to filter and sort the desired data as per the user requirements. Here the system is enhanced to download the data objects with the help of the newly implemented “Click to Download” option provided on every Data Catalog page. 

In this release, the Elastic Search functionality existing in the Business Glossary module is now enhanced to help the user to search the data with the reference to the domains, reviewers, and stewards search fields.

In the 5.1.5 release, the critical and major bugs associated with the Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Governance Catalog, Advanced Tools, Administration, and Connectors are fixed and working as expected.

Improvements

  • Data Catalog
    • Data Catalog > Download Icon
      In all the pages of the Data Catalog, a user can now download the data objects (Databases, Tables, Table Columns, Files, File Columns, Reports, Report Columns, and Queries) with the help of the newly provided Click to Download icon at the bottom of every page. 
    • Data Catalog > Advanced Filter Options
      In all the pages of the Data Catalog Objects, the Filter on the columns is enhanced with the advanced search options like (=searchTerm, !=searchTerm, etc.) to filter the desired data and a new sort icon is included for the columns along with a filter or search option to view the user required data.
  • Business Glossary
    • Business Glossary > Elastic Search Enhancement
      In the Business Glossary, the existing Elastic Search functionality is now enhanced to help the user to search the data with the reference to the domains, reviewers, and stewards search fields. 
  • Governance Catalog
    • Governance Catalog > Data Quality Rule > Functions Label Change
      In the DQR module -> Rule page -> Add Function - The existing Validate Email Range function label is now renamed to Validate Email Percent. 

Bug Fixes

  1. Home 
    1. Tags
      Once after creating the Tags and assigning that Tag to the Data Stories and DQR, the user is unable to sort or search the data from the respective Data Stories and DQR modules. But now this issue is fixed and working as expected.
  2. Business Glossary 
    1. In the Business Glossary, the issue related to the display of the edit icon for Business Description even after applying the term to the data object is now resolved and working as expected.
    2. In the Business Glossary > Add Term > Endorsement, the issue related to the update of Endorsement Description with admin user privileges is now fixed and working as expected.  
  3. Dashboard
    1. In the Dashboard > All Reports, the issue related to the display of Data Sources with the Error Messages is now fixed and working as expected.
  4. Governance Catalog
    1. In the Governance Catalog > Certification Policy, the issue related to the user certifying the Data Objects without the selection of Trigger Type in the policy is now resolved and working as expected.
    2. In the Governance Catalog > Data Classification > Download CSV File, the issue related to the display of Business Description and Tags related text in the incorrect format is now fixed and working as expected. 
    3. In the Governance Catalog > Data Quality Rule, the issue related to not showing the PIE Charts in the DQI page is now fixed and working as expected.
  5. File Manager
    1. In the File Manager, after adding the SFTP Connection and verifying the Folders, the system is displaying an error for the other Folders due to which the user is unable to work. But now the issues with data in the connection are fixed and working as expected.
  6. Query Sheet
    1. In the Query Sheet module, the issue related to the display of error while downloading the Query Results is now resolved and working as expected.
  7. Jobs
    1. In the Jobs module > Log Value, the issue related to the display of the Loading Symbol even after the job status is successful is now resolved and working as expected.
  8. Advanced Tools
    1. In the Advanced Tools > Data & Metadata Changes, the issue related to showing an error for the Metadata Changes Reports is now fixed and working as expected.
    2. In the Advanced Tools > OvalEdge API’s > User API, the issue related to the display of all the parameters in the body when updated with only selected parameters is now fixed and working as expected.
    3. In the Advanced Tools > OvalEdge API’s > User API, while adding a user the issue related to the display of null values for the Status parameter is now fixed and working as expected.
    4. In the Advanced Tools > OvalEdge API’s > User API, the issue related to the display of all the users present in the application irrespective of the license type users is now fixed and working as expected.
    5. In the Advanced Tools > OvalEdge API’s > User API > getCurrentActiveUser, the issue related to the display of null and zero for some of the parameters is now fixed and working as expected.
  9. Administration 
    1. In the Administration > Security module > Folders, while adding a new folder the issue related to the added connection getting duplicated in the File Manager is now fixed and working as expected.
    2. In the Administration > User Manager > User and Roles, the issues related to not displaying the User Roles and deleting the User when only the Role is selected for the delete and system restricting to add the deleted user again are now fixed and working as expected.

    3. LDAP Authentication

      1. When the user login’s with the “jumpcloud” credentials, the issue related to enabling of Change Password option in the My Resource > My Profile and Administration > User Manager > 9 Dots modules are now fixed and the Change Password option is been disabled in the respective modules.

      2. When the user login’s with the “jumpcloud” credentials, the issue related to allowing the user to edit the User and Roles in the User Manager module is now fixed and the Edit Option for the available Roles is now been disabled.

    4. SingleSignOn Authentication

      1. When the user login’s with the “Okta” credentials, the issue related to allowing the user to edit the User and Roles in the User Manager module is now fixed and the Edit Option for the available Roles is now been disabled.

      2. When the user login’s with the “Okta” credentials, the issue related to enabling of Change Password option in the My Resource > My Profile and Administration > User Manager > 9 Dots modules are now fixed and the Change Password option is been disabled in the respective modules.

  10. Connectors
    1. In the Administration > Crawler > PowerBI Connector, the issue related to getting the null pointer exception while building Lineage is now fixed and working as expected.
    2. In the Administration > Crawler > Looker Connector, the issue related to not displaying the associated objects once after building the Lineage is now fixed and working as expected.
    3. In the Administration > Crawler > PostgreSQL Connector - After Crawl/Profile the Metadata Schema, the issue related to the table showing the wrong count of density when calculated is now fixed and working as expected. 
    4. In the Administration > Crawler > Airflow Connector, the issue related to getting errors in the Job Logs while building the Lineage is now fixed and working as expected.
